Inland Prerunners' Sand Blast 2001 For over a year Inland Prerunners and Prerunners.Com have been bringing together offroad enthusiasts at their monthly meetings, but December 8, 2001, they'll be brining them together for a far more exciting event. Sand Blast 2001 will be held at the Victorville Motocross Complex off the 15 Freeway. The VMC is quickly gaining recognition as one of the best maintained motocross tracks in Southern California, but that Saturday in December they'll be opening the gates for something a little different. Owner, Lee Saul, and Inland Prerunners cofounder, Greg Gagnon have planned an exciting course for offroad vehicles of the four-wheeled variety. The track will be specially built with the participating vehicles in mind: street legal trucks and sedans, buggies, sand cars, and race trucks. The race will be a time-trial event with only vehicle on the course at a time. Racers will make a practice lap, then take two laps to try and score the best time for their class. With 100% payback you can be sure they'll be trying their hardest! But, the action doesn't end there. After their race each driver will have the option of taking their vehicle off a monster jump to try and win the distance and an additional class prize. With six classes, vendors, live music, and freestyle exhibitions throughout the day this will definitely be an event spectators won't want to miss. And with a low $50 entry fee, 100% payback, and a course suited for everyone from nearly stock prerunners to full-blown race trucks, rally cars, and everything in-between, it's an event racers won't want to miss either! Official entry forms, class specs, rules, and more info are available on www.prerunners.com. There are many opportunities for sponsors, vendors, and media to be involved as well. Just call Jen Coleman at (909) 780-5331 or email jen@prerunners.com if you want to be a part of what is shaping up to be one of the most exciting offroad events of the year. |
