LADY LUCK FAILED TO SMILE
Ensenada, Mexico--It was definitely not a lucky weekend for Brian Collins and his BJC Commercial Investments/BFGoodrich sponsored Chevy Silverado Trophy Truck.
Gaining on the entire field, by the end of the first 150 miles, Collins had almost a 10-minute lead. "We were really looking so strong," continues Collins. "But off-road racing is totally unpredictable. One minute you're barreling along and the next, you're in trouble." And for Collins, trouble was a tree stump. "We were coming down from Mike's Sky Ranch," continues the Las Vegas resident, "when we tanged with a large tree stump. It broke the A-arm and there was nothing we could do but pack it in for the day. It was one of those things that simply couldn't be repaired out on the course." Not finishing drops Collins to third in the Trophy Truck Championship points battle. "We may have lost a little ground," says Collins, "but we're definitely not out of the running. Between the Primm and the Baja 1000, there are a total of at least 135 points up for grabs and you get bet we'll be ready to grab our share." |
