![]() Las Vegas Still flying high from his victory at the Laughlin Desert Challenge, top-ranked driver Brian Collins is set to power his BJC Commercial Investments/BFGoodrich- sponsored Chevrolet Trophy Truck right into the Winner's Circle at the upcoming SCORE San Felipe 250, March 17 in San Felipe, Baja California. "We are good to go," says Collins. "Our crew has done their job and our Trophy Truck is totally dialed. Billy Goerke and I took first in Class 8 at San Felipe last year. Now I want to do the same in our Trophy Truck. This is definitely one of my favorite races on the SCORE circuit. The terrain is different than what we find at either the Baja 500 and the 1000 and the course is very technical. It's a fun race to drive." Measuring 208.8 miles in length, this year's San Felipe course gives racers a total of 10 hours to complete the obstacle-laden run. In Class 8 last year, Collins and Goerke finished in 4:17.49 hours for an average of 48.59 mph. The first Trophy Truck turned in a time of 3:39.16 hours with an average speed of 57:14 mph. "If all goes well, we figure we can do equally as well or slightly better than last year's Trophy Truck winner," says Collins with obvious conviction. His victory at the Laughlin
This race will mark Collins'
fifth race in the BJC Commercial Investments/BFGodrich-sponsored Chevrolet Trophy
Truck and will be the first time he has run it in San Felipe. "It just
gets better every race," says Collins. "Our crew has put so much time
and effort into making this new truck dynamite, it's unbelievable. It is a pleasure
to get in it and run." |
