Las Vegas…With a 10 point lead in the prestigious SCORE Trophy Truck division, off-road star Brian Collins is looking to take the win at the upcoming Baja 500, June 1-3 in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico.

Piloting his BJC Commercial Investments/BFGoodrich-sponsored Chevy, Collins will be the first four-wheel vehicle to leave the Ensenada startline. "Starting first is always a plus," says Collins who earned the win at the Laughlin Desert Challenge and a second at the San Felipe 250. "Hopefully it is a lucky omen and at the end of the race we will be in the Number One slot."

Covering 476.2 miles of some of the roughest off-road terrain in the world, this year's Baja 500 will boast a new loop running south, west and north from Mike's Sky Ranch in the San Pedro Martir Mountains. Drivers will have 20 hours to complete the run. "This has always been one of my favorite races," says Collins, who debuted his Chevy Silverado Trophy Truck at this event last season. "We ran this truck right out of the box last year and finished 6th. This year our truck is just incredible. It simply couldn't run any better. My crew has given me a definite winner. They are the best."

Winning is nothing new to this Las Vegas resident, who has been contesting off-road racing for over 23 years. With numerous victories and championships to his credit, Collins now wants to add the Trophy Truck crown to his ever-growing list. "Winning this season's championship would be awesome," says Collins. "We're definitely on our way and with a little luck we will be able to maintain our lead."

Sharing the driving duties with Collins for the Baja 500 will be one of the all time off-road greats - Larry Ragland. "I'm really excited about this race," says Ragland, who has four Baja 500 Class wins and three overall titles (1982, 1984 and 2000). "Brian and I have been friends for a long time and it is a pleasure to share driving responsibilities with him. We tested the truck last week and what Brian says is true. It is a winner."

He is without a doubt one of the winningest drivers in all of off-road and is an expert in powering his way through the rugged Baja terrain. We're going to make a formidable duo."
